Online communities including social media channels Our Facebook “Childhood brain injury support group” has been devised as a peer-to-peer support service for users to share their experiences with each other. Members do so subject to these Terms and Conditions. The following additional terms apply:
  • Administrators at The Brain Injury Hub and staff at The Children's Trust are unable to respond to enquiries of a medical nature. 
  • Comments made by members outside of The Children's Trust may not represent the opinion of The Children's Trust or The Brain Injury Hub and should not be relied upon as representing such views.
  • Members may post or upload content (which may include text or pictures) as long as it complies with these Terms of Use.
  • Facebook group posts are public, unless stated within a particular group. You should use caution when giving out any personally identifying information about yourself when using the group, and must not post or upload personally identifying information of third parties unless you have their consent to do so.
  • We reserve the right (at our sole discretion) to suspend or ban you from the online support group without notice.
  • We reserve the right to block or remove any content at any time at our sole discretion.
  • Content you post must not contain any information about, or any information that would identify any person(s) under the age of 16 unless you are either the parent or guardian of the child, or you have signed permission from their parent or guardian.
  • You acknowledge that content posted by users does not reflect the views and experience of The Children’s Trust.
  • Any users other than the administrator(s) who give the impression that they represent the views or experiences of The Children’s Trust may be removed from the group without notice.
  • You must have the right to submit any content you post. You also warrant that your content:
    • does not contain any information about or any information that would identify any person(s) under the age of 16 unless you are either the parent or guardian of the child, or you have signed permission from their parent or guardian.
    • Does not infringe any copyright, trademarks, rights of privacy or confidentiality, publicity or any other intellectual property or other rights of any other person or entity. Does not contain malicious code, viruses or other harmful programs or material. Does not violate any applicable laws or codes of conduct.
    • Does not contain any material which constitutes or encourages conduct that could be considered a criminal offence, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise be contrary to the law;
    • Does not contain any material which is defamatory;
    • Does not contain any material which is obscene or offensive;
    • Does not contain any material which is likely to disrupt, provoke, attack or offend others;
    • Is not racist, sexist, homophobic, sexually explicit, abusive or otherwise objectionable;
    • Does not contain swear words or other language likely to offend;
    • Is not likely to deceive any person;
    • Is not made in breach of any legal duty owed to a third party such as a contractual duty or obligation of confidentiality;
    • Is not likely to harass, upset, embarrass, alarm or annoy any other person;
    • Is not likely to disrupt our service in any way;
    • Does not contain links to any sites which might breach the terms above.
    • Parents and other users may wish to recommend services or products to our members through our online communities. While we would not wish to discourage this, we retain the right to edit or remove (at our discretion) posts which make explicit reference to products, organisations or services. Posts should not advertise products or services for gain. 
    • We reserve the right to stop, suspend or withdraw the online support group at any time.

The Facebook support group is re-actively moderated. This means that we do not pre-approve or check posts or comments before they appear on the site. We will usually only check comments if a complaint is made about them. Blogs, news and event content Blogs in our online community represent the views of the author only, and do not represent those of The Children's Trust or the Brain Injury Hub. Our event content is intended to be used as a noticeboard only. The information is drawn from the organisers themselves and we have no responsibility for the events themselves. Neither The Children's Trust nor the Brain Injury Hub endorses these events.  Photographs Many of the images used on the site are stock photographs and are used for purposes of illustration only. Many individuals featured are models.
