WWE female star's brain to be donated for brain injury research following tragic death

Chyna suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which is caused by repeated impact to the head.

The wrestling icon's brain will hopefully contribute to research after the star was found dead in her Los Angeles home last week. "We want to donate her brain," said Chyna's manager, Anthony Anzaldo, in an interview with the New York Daily News . "We want to know what made Chyna tick." According to the reports, the legendary grappler's brain has been handed over to researcher Dr. Bennet Omalu to determine whether the wrestling icon suffered from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), which is caused by repeated impact to the head. The 46-year-old - real name Joanie Laurer - was initially reported to have died from an accidental overdose. However the Los Angeles County Coroner's office has now revealed it could take months to determine what caused her death.
