Wheelchairs on planes

A BBC film shows one mum's fight to get wheelchairs on planes.

The mum, Michele Erwin, has stopped taking her son on flights due to the numerous difficulties encountered. Contributors to the film explain that they have had their wheelchairs broken or have waited for hours to get off the plane due to their wheelchair being lost. Despite many forms of transport being wheelchair accessible, aeroplanes are not, so Michele is fighting to allow people with disabilities to take their own wheelchair on the plane. The three-minute film shows Michele meeting with Virgin Atlantic and explaining her campaign for a wheelchair spot on the plane, which would resemble the wheelchair spot on a bus. The film is by Richard Kenny for BBC World Hacks.
