Viral meningitis has long-term effects

A survey has found that viral meningitis – which can result in an acquired brain injury – is leaving 97 per cent of sufferers with debilitating after-effects. Viral meningitis is often considered the ‘milder’ strain of the disease. But the Meningitis Trust, who commissioned the survey, says people with the viral form deal with after-effects long after their initial experience. Read more on the Trust’s website.
