It's Road Safety Week

Today (Monday) sees the start of Road Safety Week, an initiative aimed at preventing road accidents and supporting those involved.  Conceived by the charity Brake, the annual event is designed to raise awareness of the extent of road traffic accidents and the steps that can be taken to reduce them.  Many children and their families have their lives transformed after the devastating impact of road accidents, some of them children with acquired brain injuries.  Brake supports campaigns such as having 20mph speed limits around homes, schools and communities. People all over the country are getting involved in Road Safety Week, through spreading the word, making personal pledges about their driving, running campaigns on road safety or fundraising.  To read more about the week or to find out ways to get involved, visit the website here.
