Richard Hammond visits children with brain injury

The Top Gear star met youngsters who are receiving rehabilitation for a brain injury at The Children's Trust in Tadworth, Surrey.

During the visit on Feb 17 Richard –  who sustained a catastrophic brain injury of his own in 2006 from a high-speed car accident– chatted with children, parents and staff and sat in on a physiotherapy session. He also spent much of the afternoon being filmed for the BBC One's charity appeal programme, Lifeline , which next month will be in aid of The Children's Trust and is due to be aired March 16. Richard is vice president of the charity and recently created an audio book for its new children's book, Heads Up, Tim-Tron, explaining brain injury. Read the full story.
