PlayStation criticised by gamers with disabilities

Sony’s decision not to have the DualShock 4 controller work with PlayStation 5 games has sparked concerns among gamers about accessibility.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed that the DualShock 4 controller will not be compatible with PlayStation 5 (PS5) games. It was revealed that the DualShock 4 and any PlayStation officially licensed third-party gamepad controllers will work on the PS5 but only for supported PS4 games. For PS5 games, Sony states that the DualShock 4 controller is not supported: “We believe that PS5 games should take advantage of the new capabilities and features we’re bringing to the platform, including the features of DualSense wireless controller.” Can I Play That has highlighted the issue among disabled gamers who have been voicing their disappointment on social media.  The PS5 is due to launch in the coming months.
