Play explores link between ABI and creativity

Is there a link between brain injury and creativity? The medical community may be uncertain, but a new play performed tonight (Tuesday, Feb 26) will explore this interesting link. In An Alien Landscape – performed by Glasgow’s Birds of Paradise theatre company – is the story of Albie, a 50-year-old hardman who sustains a brain injury. After coming round after surgery, he discovers an irresistible urge to paint, sculpt and write. Playwright Danny Start based the story on one of his own friends, and says he is fascinated by the way our brains “don’t run on railway lines, they veer all over the place”. In An Alien Landscape will be at the Paisley Arts Centre, New Street, Paisley today at 2pm. Tickets are £3 and can be purchased by calling 0141 887 1010 or visiting the website here.
