Nicholas Owen shows his support for The Children's Trust

The newsreader, who is an ambassador and volunteer at the charity, spoke about helping children with brain injury.

Nicholas Owen has recorded a message explaining why support is needed for children with brain injury during coronavirus. Speaking on The Children's Trust's Facebook page, Nicholas explained how he is a volunteer driver for The Children's Trust, but is currently unable to volunteer due to lockdown. Explaining why the charity needs support for it's special appeal at this time, Nicholas said: "The Children's Trust require round the clock, very highly skilled care, and now they face the highly difficult task of trying to prevent the childrens getting Covid-19." Nicholas also sent a special message of support to staff at The Children's Trust. Nicholas became a local volunteer driver for the charity in June 2019, driving children and young people at The Children’s Trust to and from vital medical appointments, activity days (which are a crucial part of their rehabilitation) and home.
