Mild brain injury app: Know the RISKS

The launch of a new app could save the lives of people with brain injury and is ideal for sports teachers and parents.

The free resource is intended to help anyone in need, quickly listing the signs and symptoms of mild brain injury. It then clearly outlines the actions needed to respond to them to result in the best outcomes for the injured person. The app is free to download and available for ios, windows and android devices and its planned development includes a location-based feature outlining nearest emergency services. The app was officially launched on 29 January in Stormont, by Belfast by Health Minister, Jim Wells. The app was created by Cedar Foundation, Child Brain Injury Trust, Headway UK and Reconnect in collaboration with Belfast-based tech firm TotalMobile, which provides innovative software solutions to revolutionise the way frontline healthcare staff work.
