Meningitis vaccine set for UK

A vaccine to protect children against a form of meningitis that can cause brain injury may soon be licensed for use in Britain. The vaccine, called Bexsero, is expected to receive its licence early next year. It has been recommended for use in children aged two months and older and protects against meningitis B. Meningitis UK has described the development of the vaccine as a "landmark moment in the fight against meningitis", and wants the jab to be introduced into the government's routine immunisation schedule.
