Liam Gallagher's band cancels gigs as guitarist recovers from "severe head trauma"

Beady Eye were lined up to play V Festival before guitarist Gem Archer had his accident.

A statement on the band's website says they are bowing out of all appearances in August because of the injury. "The band apologise to fans but under the circumstances feel they cannot perform without Gem and want to focus on supporting him," it said. The statement continued: "Gem was released from hospital yesterday evening (Wednesday 7 August) and is recovering at home though remains under observation.
