Godson’s brain injury encourages Gaby’s marathon challenge

Ollie choked on a grape which resulted in a significant brain injury.

Gaby from Wetherby, hopes to raise £4,000 for The Children’s Trust when she takes part in the Virgin Money London Marathon on 26th April 2015. The mum-of-two explains why she is running for the charity: “Nine years ago my godson Ollie received rehabilitation at The Children’s Trust after he sustained a brain injury as a result of choking on a grape. Click here to sign up for your own fundraising challenge to help children with brain injury.  Ollie has overcome many challenges over the years in relearning everyday life skills that we take for granted, so I am determined to complete the ultimate challenge of 26 miles in the London Marathon.” In addition Gaby, 45, challenged herself to run 45 miles to mark this year. Having completed the Leeds 10k and the Great North Run, totalling 19 miles, she is now preparing for her final run to achieve her overall goal. Sponsor & read more.
