“Different is beautiful!"

Photographer mum of four-year-old with Down's syndrome creates back-to-school campaign starring children with disabilities

Kathryn Driscoll of Chicago was frustrated with the lack of children with disabilities represented in the countless back-to-school campaigns. The mother-of-four has produced a photo shoot inclusive of, but not limited to, children with disabilities. "I thought of all the parents who have children with different learning or physical abilities," said Kathryn, who is mum to Grace who has Down's syndrome and three boys. "What it must feel like to be searching for the perfect book-bag or first-day-of-school outfit - and not see any child that might represent them in the media."
