Cricket legend’s ‘terrifying’ abseil in support of children with brain injury

Phil Tufnell took on the challenge to raise money for The Children’s Trust

The former England cricketer and sports celebrity Phil Tufnell successfully completed the challenge of abseiling down Guildford Cathedral on Saturday 26 September. The 49-year-old sportsman climbed the 249 steps to reach the top of Guildford Cathedral’s tower, before abseiling down 160ft. Phil, ambassador of The Children’s Trust, said: “The abseil was terrifying, but I was determined to do this as I always like to do whatever I can to help raise awareness of the charity.” The Children’s Trust is the UK's leading charity for children with brain injury.
