Claudia's Cause

A little girl who defied the odds to recover from a brain tumour that doctors said would kill her has died in her sleep.

Claudia Burkill was diagnosed with a rare and inoperable brain tumour in 2011, aged five. She was given the all clear by doctors in Nottingham in June at the age of eight-years-old Her family were told on four occasions that Claudia was about to die but she battles on and an MRI scan revealed she was free from cancer on June. However an ultrasound in July showed a 2cm nodule on the top of her diaphragm. During the course of her treatment her family raised more than £100,000 for the children’s brain tumour research centre at the University of Nottingham The Claudia's Cause Facebook page has received an outpouring of support and sympathy since Claudia dies on Saturday.
