Channel 4 training scheme encourages applications from people with disabilities

Channel 4 is recruiting for its Production Training Scheme and Production Apprenticeships – and the deadline is Sunday.

Channel 4 is looking for people who are aged 18 or over who want to break into the media industry and are passionate about making television programmes. It said: “Anyone can apply to the programme, but the scheme is particularly aimed at people with disabilities, or from BAME communities or disadvantaged backgrounds. These groups are currently underrepresented in the television industry which is something we want to change.” You can find full information on both schemes and places are available in London, Glasgow, Cardiff, Manchester, Bristol, Brighton and Leeds.  Channel 4’s tweet included: ‘No previous experience required, just a love of television!’. It is encouraging those with no prior experience or education to look at the Production Apprenticeship role. For the Production Training Scheme applicants may have a related Degree or some previous experience of the television industry. The recruitment deadline is Sunday 13 May.
