This summer we’re taking a look into companies providing family holidays in the UK and how they cater for people with disabilities.  Haven Haven provides modified caravans at 36 of their coastal parks with converted bath and shower rooms, ramps leading to the door and spacious interiors with adapted kitchen areas. There is parking available next to the caravan at some of the parks. Haven have dedicated assistance teams at their call centres and on-site and the local tourist boards have information on local area disability access. In terms of financing, Haven offer an interest-free monthly payment plan. For discounts on UK holidays and short breaks, Motability offers 5% discount to Scheme customers.   Parkdean
Parkdean Resorts
Another wheelchair friendly resort is Parkdean, which offers accessible options at 64 of its UK parks. It also offers specially adapted spaces that allow easy movement between rooms and walk in showers and wet areas. While the majority of parks and their facilities are wheelchair accessible it would be best to speak to a member of the contact centre team to find the most suitable location, and during your holiday park staff are on hand to help.   Farm Stay For a more independent option, Farm Stay specialises in cottages and B&B’s throughout the UK. It has a number of accessible holiday options that have been designed with wheelchair users in mind. Some of its properties have been rated by NAS (National Accessible Scheme) and other properties have won Visit England Awards for their category. Some locations offer cross-country wheelchairs and have other disability friendly activities and facilities available.    Center Parcs Center Parcs is well known for being accessible. One parent said about their holiday experience: 'We’ve been on a few holidays and one we loved was Center Parcs. We hired bikes and our son could go in front; he also did archery, swimming, laser tag in the woods and staff helped him build a den. It was a very good break.' You can read Center Parcs Access for all statement for each park.
