Understanding Brain Injury

The effects of brain injury can be complex and highly disruptive to survivors and to their families. This event provides an interactive and practical introduction to profes-sionals who may support people affected by brain injury. It will cover:
  • Understanding Brain Injury—the physical, cognitive and social conse-quences of brain injury for the individual, families and carers
  • Cognitive Rehabilitation— developments in cognitive rehabilitation following acquired brain injury; how to help the brain injury survivor relearn lost skills and develop new skills and compensatory strategies
Those attending will understand some basic facts about brain injury, the effects that brain injury can have on the lives of the brain injury survivor and approaches to rehabilitation and support. The event will start at 9.30 am and finish at 4pm ( half an hour for lunch) . The cost is £40 per attendee, including re-freshments ( lunch is not provided — there is space to eat lunch if candidates bring food with them and there is an onsite cafe).
