A FREE exhibition of self directed photography by a group of young people living and learning in Hackney, East London. Photography offers a voice to people who find everyday communication a challenge. Features the work of Emma, Qwayne, Mohammed, Jason, Izu and Luke, students at The Garden School in Hackney, which supports children with special educational needs many with an autistic spectrum disorder. The exhibition has been funded by Hackney Museum, Arts Council England and The Garden School as part of the Re:present programme at the Museum aiming to re:present the rich diversity of people who live, work and visit Hackney. Picture Taking forms part of Hackney Museum's The Black History Season and UK Disability History Month 2015 - the theme this year is Portrayal of Disability: Then and Now.
