CBIT Masterclass Lecture - Newcastle

From the Child Brain Injury Trust website: Child Brain Injury Trust are pleased to announce that we will be holding a number of Master Class Lectures in the months ahead; these events consist of a two hour lecture delivered by a leading expert on childhood acquired brain injury. Each Master Class event will consist of two lectures, one in the morning and one in the afternoon; and will provide excellent networking opportunities over lunch. This format allows Certified CPD opportunities on specialist areas of childhood ABI that are often not covered in as much detail at other Conferences or Seminars. The two lectures are:

Maturation stages of the Brain

Understanding the development of the child and adolescent brain, what should happen when, understanding developmental delays and the Impact of ABI on the developing brain. Lecturer - Dr Sophie Thomas, Clinical Psychologist in Paediatric Neuropsychology and Lecturer at Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Neuropsychological impact of ABI on the child or young person

Looking in depth at the changes to behaviour, memory, processing following childhood acquired brain injury. Lecturer - Dr Rob Forsyth , specialist paediatric neurologist and researcher in aspects of brain disease and ABI in children. He is a Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University and also an NHS Consultant Paediatric Neurologist at the Great North Children's Hospital, Newcastle upon Tyne.
