About Jan ...

Play therapist Jan Vance
Jan Vance has been our play therapist at The Children's Trust since 2004. During that time she has provided play therapy to support many children during their residential placements for acquired brain injury rehabilitation. Play therapy is a very child-friendly form of counselling that uses a language of  ‘play’ between therapist and the child. Jan has got to know the feelings and the fears of children and young people from three to 18 and has worked with their parents to support their attachments and bonds to each other. Her writing in her blog is based in her therapeutic experience, but these are ideas anyone can benefit from.  Read Jan's blog here.
