Important information about this page: On 1 September 2014 the special educational needs (SEN) system in England changed.Some children might not be able to go back to their school after a brain injury. This might be because they need more help than a mainstream school can give them. Children might go to a special school instead.
They might have been given an Education, Health and Care plan . Read more about this. Children at a special school might be in a smaller class.1 Teachers there will know more about special educational needs. Therapy might be part of the school day. So children might have physiotherapy or help with their speech.
